Minister: Some EU firms secretly agree to pay in rubles

MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) – Some of the European companies importing natural gas from Russia agree with an offer to pay in rubles but do not say so openly and misinform the mass media about the position of Hungary, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Friday.

"I would like to ask you not to spread misinformation that there is allegedly a consolidated position of the E.U., from which we, the Hungarians are dissenting… It is natural for us to pay for gas so that it is supplied to us," the minister said.

He said that it is not true that all non-Hungarian companies refused to pay in rubles but they do not admit this.
